Steel Pipes

Vessels

Since being designated as a defense contractor in the naval vessel sector in 2017, SK oceanplant has successfully built and delivered one 1,500-ton patrol vessel and three 3,000-ton patrol vessels for the Korea Coast Guard, as well as 24 mooring support vessels for the Defense Acquisition Program Administration. As of the end of 2025, the company holds an order backlog for three Ulsan-class Batch-III frigates (KRW 197.3 billion) and has successfully launched two frigates (ROKS Gyeoungbuk and ROKS Jeonnam), establishing itself as a key player in the domestic defense industry.

MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul)

Samkang S&C, a subsidiary of SK oceanplant, is the only shipyard capable of repairing ultra-large vessels of VLCC class (maximum loading capacity of 200,000 tons) or larger in Korea. It operates a floating dock with a maximum lifting capacity of 100,000 tons and has a substantial track record of repair projects. Following key evaluations related to the signing of the MSRA (Master Ship Repair Agreement) and the completion of the agreement, the company is currently preparing to participate in a bid for a U.S. Navy logistics support ship.

2025 ESG Highlights


With the goal of embedding ESG management into its operations, SK oceanplant has established a systematic management framework across all areas—including environment, safety, quality, and ethics—and is delivering tangible results. In 2025, the company earned an “A” grade in the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability(KCGS) ESG rating, receiving recognition for the reliability and transparency of its information disclosures. SK oeceanplant also demonstrated its technological competitiveness in the eco-friendly ship market by securing an order for a methanol dual-fuel vessel. Moreover, by fostering a company-wide safety culture and expanding employee participation, the company achieved “Zero” serious accidents. It has also signed a contract to supply substructures for Korea’s largest offshore wind farm development project, contributing to the supply of 532 MW of renewable energy.
